Publication Notice : EditForce Established C-to-U RNA Editing Technology Using PPR Platform Technology

We are pleased to announce that, in collaboration with Kyushu University, we have developed RECODE (RNA Editor for C-to-U with an Optimized DYW Enzyme) Technology using PPR proteins. This Technology was published in the American scientific journal "Nucleic Acids Research" on November 9, 2025 (Japan Time).

RECODE Technology has enabled us to design a single protein consisting of “PPR protein” that specifically binds to the target RNA sequence and “DYW domain” that edits cytidine (C) to uridine (U) at the bound site, and to make base editing in animal cells and mice more accurately than conventional technologies.

We are currently developing various RNA editing technologies using PPR proteins, and this RECODE Technology has advanced the new platform technology that edits a single base in RNA.  Going forward, we aim to apply this RECODE Technology to drug discovery targets and realize an innovative drug discovery platform technology that can be applied to a variety of diseases.
